KRISTY REED ONLINE ENGLISH 2ND LANGUAGE TEACHER BIO

Hello! My name is Kristy and I am an enthusiastic, friendly and patient ESL Teacher. I live in sunny South Africa, on the east coast in a town called Ballito. I have a Bachelors of Art's Degree in Media and Writing and Film Studies, as well as a Post Graduate in Management. I am TEFL certified with over 8 years teaching experience and 17 years working experience in many different fields. I am what you would call "a jack of all trades".

 

I have worked well with both children and adults; I truly love interacting with people and connecting with them through English education. I  deliver high-level adult English instruction to international professionals, as well as teaching our future of tomorrow, children from ages 4 and up. I aim to develop communication skills for everyday life. My extensive general knowledge skills helps me to deliver lessons on a multitude of topics; from Law, sports, different cultures, learning about different countries to discussing architecture, art and many other incredible subjects.

I love teaching because I can help others improve their skills. It gives me joy and excitement meeting learners around the world.

In my class, I work with wonderful enthusiasm and positivity. I’m interested in many different topics, and I’m happy to focus on my learners’ goals. I focus on maximising talking time, pronunciation and spelling. I love to make my students feel empowered when they learn. I am very patient, kind and I make sure the student gets the most out of the lesson. My methods of teaching which I find useful include using props and toys for kids, lots of TPR and positive encouragement.

 

I have exceptional communications skills which I use to help clients to increase vocabulary, fluency and pronunciation. I am very energetic, kind and I always make sure the student gets the most out of the lesson. I strongly believe the future of teaching is online and I am so excited about being a part of it and helping people communicate in English.
